No discolouration by UV light
The polycarbonate that Skylux uses is UV-resistant, so the skylight maintains its colour and light transmission.
Round skylights are especially used for their aesthetic look. They fit nicely in modern rooms and offer an appealing light distribution.

Avoid solar heat, go for Heatstop
Prevent your room from heating up. Our polycarbonate skylights are also available as Heatstop version. This means an additional heat-reflecting Heatstop layer is provided, which filters out infrared rays from the sun. This reduces the heating under the skylight. The Heatstop skylight has a pearlescent look.
An opal skylight is milky white and slightly less translucent than a clear skylight. The difference, however, is very small. The main reason why people choose an opal skylight is because it partly reflects solar heat. A clear skylight allows almost all heat rays to pass through, while an opal skylight only lets 42% through. The milky white appearance also provides privacy.

High insulation values - even for plastic skylights
Many people believe that only glass flat roof windows offer the right insulation value. But this is a wrong perception. A 4-walled plastic skylight also has a high insulation value and complies with the strict insulation demands. Furthermore, plastic skylights are lighter than glass models and there are much more sizes available.

Recognisable look
The red dome caps provide a recognisable look. If you see the red caps, you know you are looking at a polycarbonate skylight. The cap is made of solid plastic and has a press seal for excellent watertightness.

Pre-mounted for openable skylights
A skylight in your home is a good daylight solution, but a skylight that can be opened for fresh air ventilation is even better. An openable skylight requires a PVC frame between the dome walls and the curb. The frame is highly insulating and makes sure the seal is perfectly pressed against the curb when closing the skylight. Skylux pre-mounts everything for you. You only need to choose which opening system you want to have installed: manual or electric. This allows for a quick and easy installation.
