Can I replace my old skylight with an iWindow flat roof window?
Absolutely, and without major demolition work on your roof. With the smart Skylux Renovation Frame, we can quickly install a brand-new fixed iWindow over your existing roof curb.
Do you specifically want to replace an old fixed dome with an opening glass flat roof window? Then choose the iWindow Flex 2.0. Its motor is innovatively integrated into the frame itself, allowing the window to be pushed up effortlessly for ventilation. In all cases, your roof covering remains 100% intact.
Will rainwater or dirt remain on the flat glass?
No. Every flat roof in the Netherlands and Belgium is typically built with a slight pitch for water drainage, and the iWindow follows this pitch perfectly. This allows rain and dirt to slide naturally off the sleek glass surface.
Does your roof still have insufficient slope? No problem. The iWindow can easily be installed with a minimum pitch of 5 degrees, guaranteeing that water never remains on the glass.
Does the iWindow provide good insulation against cold, summer heat and rain noise?
Excellently. The iWindow comes standard with HR++ double glazing (U-value 1.0) or HR+++ triple glazing (U-value 0.5) for outstanding thermal insulation. The heavy safety glass also reduces the tapping sound of rain or hail to an absolute minimum.
For rooms with a lot of direct sunlight, such as south-facing spaces, we recommend our solar control glazing to elegantly prevent overheating in summer.
Can I operate the iWindow electrically or integrate it into my smart home?
Yes. If you choose an opening iWindow, the whisper-quiet motors, 230V or solar-powered Solar, are fully concealed within the sleek frame. The Solar motor works completely wirelessly and charges via an integrated solar panel. This allows you to install the opening iWindow without an electrical connection, perfect for renovations or hard-to-reach locations.
Thanks to built-in Matter technology, you can seamlessly connect the window and optional electric accessories to Apple HomeKit, Google Home or Amazon Alexa. Control your indoor climate with one tap on your smartphone or automate ventilation with your voice.
Do I need to order accessories such as sun protection or blackout screens immediately?
That is entirely up to you, depending on your model. Choose an opening iWindow including electric external sun protection, blackout or insect screen, and Skylux will assemble it for you in the factory as one fully pre-assembled set. No complicated work on the roof, just a flawless plug & play installation.
