The right material for every project
Polycarbonate, acrylic, Pergotop or PVC - each material has its application. Discover our range and find the sheet that suits your project.

Polycarbonate
The most versatile material for canopy and roof
Polycarbonate comes in four versions, each for a different application. Flat multi-walled (Polyclear®) insulates, lets daylight through and is lightweight, ideal for canopies and barrel vaults. Flat solid is up to 250 times more impact-resistant than glass and flame-retardant, for situations where safety comes first. Corrugated solid or multi-walled fits as a translucent strip in corrugated roofs of sheds and outbuildings, with the version determining how much insulation you gain.

Acrylic
As clear as glass, stronger and lighter
Acrylic combines the clarity of glass with the durability of plastic. Flat multi-walled (Plexiglas®) is UV-resistant and retains its light transmission even after years of outdoor use, suitable for canopies, barrel vaults and representative facades. Flat solid (PMMA) is the choice for facade cladding, partition walls and decorative applications: lightweight, easy to process and available in every thickness.

PVC
Light-transmitting roof at the best price
PVC is available as a flat roll or in a corrugated profile and fits standard roof structures. The material is weather-resistant, UV-stable and widely applicable. A smart choice for carports, garden sheds, bicycle shelters and simple outbuildings where good value for money matters.

Pergotop
Quiet, insulating and made to measure for your canopy
Pergotop is a closed roofing sheet, specifically designed for canopies and terrace covers. The panel provides solid insulation and is cost-effective to install. The Soft version adds acoustic damping and is noticeably quieter in the rain. Both variants are available in multiple colours and suitable for new build and refurbishment.

Polyester
Robust roof light for industrial applications
Polyester combines light transmission with high mechanical resistance. It is available as a flat roll or in a corrugated profile, weather-resistant and UV-stable. With a light transmission of 90 to 92%, it is the choice for industrial roofs, sheds and outdoor structures where durability under load matters.

Polystyrene
Lightweight and budget-friendly for indoor use
Solid polystyrene is the budget-friendly choice for interior applications. It is easy to saw, mill and process, and is ideal for partition walls, exhibition setups and decorative interior elements. Intended for indoor use only.

Frequently asked questions about plastic sheets
What is the difference between polycarbonate and acrylic (Plexiglas®) plastic sheets?
Polycarbonate is up to 250x more impact-resistant than glass and exceptionally hail-resistant. The material withstands impact without breaking and is therefore the standard for roofs and outdoor applications. Acrylic (Plexiglas®) is optically clearer, with light transmission up to 92%, almost equal to glass, and offers excellent UV resistance. Acrylic is, however, less impact-resistant. For veranda roofs and barrel vaults where insulation and strength come first, choose multi-walled polycarbonate. For applications where maximum optical clarity is key, acrylic is the right choice.
Which plastic sheets should I choose for my veranda or roof canopy?
For a veranda roof, multi-walled polycarbonate (Polyclear®) is the most popular solution. It combines strong insulation performance, high light transmission and hail resistance in one profile. For maximum comfort, choose a heat-reflecting version such as Heatstop, Reflex Pearl or Primalite. These reflect up to 59% of the sun’s heat without losing daylight. For a closed roof without light transmission, Pergotop offers an aluminium sandwich panel with top insulation and optional sound insulation. Our sheet selector above helps you make the right choice in three steps.
Which plastic sheets provide the best insulation?
The insulation value is expressed as a U-value. The lower the number, the better the material insulates. Our multi-walled polycarbonate sheets achieve U-values from 2.5 W/m²K (10 mm four-walled) to 0.8 W/m²K (Heatstop 55 mm). The TOP-X 16 mm reaches 1.8 W/m²K, sufficient for a comfortable canopy. For energy-efficient projects, the TOP-X11 EP 32 mm goes down to 1.0 W/m²K. For a fully closed roof, Pergotop offers a U-value of up to 0.58 W/m²K, comparable to an insulated façade.
Are plastic sheets supplied cut to size?
Yes. The full range is available cut to size within the standard production tolerances of -2 to +6 mm in width and 0 to +12 mm in length up to three metres. Polylux Supercristal is also available in rolls up to 30 m for a seamless finish. This is ideal for long industrial roofs without visible overlaps. For project-specific dimensions, you will receive a custom quote from our sales department within one working day.
How do I maintain plastic sheets and how long do they last?
Clean with lukewarm water, a mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid acetone, petrol and aggressive solvents, as these affect the top layer. The UV-protective outer layer prevents yellowing over time. With correct installation and normal use, our polycarbonate and acrylic sheets last for several decades without significant loss of quality. After ageing, Polylux Supercristal still retains 85.4% of its original light transmission, underlining the durability of the range.
