Frequently asked questions about smoke and heat extraction
How do I silence the buzzer?
Please refer to the attached appendix for instructions on silencing the buzzer.
Can I open the Skylux Skymax manually if the power is not yet connected?
No, the Skymax cannot be opened manually when no power is connected.
What you can do is use the temporary cable and open the Skymax using a drill battery. An 18V battery is generally sufficient to operate the system temporarily.
What is the difference between the master and the slave regarding the bus connector?
The master has 4 connections on the bus connector, while the slave has 3. Only 3 connections need to be connected. This is because the master PCB has been updated, but the slave has not yet.
What should I do if the motor operates in reverse?
Reverse the motor wires. In the event of an alarm, the system must open, and on reset it must close.
We have a master-slave installation with only 3 connections (A1, A2, A3 and B1, B2, B3). According to the diagram, this should be connected as 4-wire. How do we solve this?
The 4th wire does not need to be connected.
Are there specific dip-switch settings or other details we need to take into account?
Yes, for a master-slave installation the following settings apply:
- Master: J4 + J5
- Intermediate slave: J6 only
- Last slave: J6 + J7

Frequently asked questions about the SVM control panel
What should I do if LED 3 lights up?
The wires of the weather sensor may not be properly grounded. When the rain sensor is activated, the LED will light up. This activates a 15-minute timer that can be reactivated by rain or wind. During this period, ventilation mode cannot be used. Also check that connections 21-22 are not short-circuited, which may be caused by a clock, building alarm or CTS.
What does it mean if LED 4 lights up?
When LED 4 stays on continuously: There is a problem with the motor. This may be caused by an incorrect connection or because no resistor has been fitted.
When LED 4 flashes: There is a problem with a wire making contact with the earth. Please note: this may cause the limit switch to fail.
- J2-J3 is not set correctly
- Output fuse defective (8 A fuse)
Correct operation
Alarm: The opening system is open (indicated by LED1)
Reset: The opening system is closed (indicated by LED2)
What should I do if LED 5 lights up?
Regarding the fire push button:
- The 10 KΩ resistor in connection 13-14 must be removed when the fire push button is installed.
- J1 in the fire push button is not fitted.
- The wires are not positioned correctly.
- J1 must be set to “ON”, only in the last (or only) fire push button. This is the correct setting for the fire push button.
Regarding the priority switch:
- There is an incorrect connection. Consult the attached diagram for the correct order.
- The resistors on terminal 24-25 to 27 have not been removed.
What does it mean when LED 6 lights up?
- Wires are not connected correctly to the detector
- Detector not correctly “clicked” (turned) into the contact
- 10K resistor missing in the last detector
What should I do in the event of an AC fault, where there is no 230 V AC power supply to the control panel?
- Make sure that the 230 V fuse/circuit breaker in the control panel is switched on.
- Check whether the power supply under the main PCB is defective. There should always be a green LED on on the power supply behind the PCB.
What should I do in the event of a line fault?
- Check the internal LEDs on the main PCB to determine which output or input is causing a line fault.
- Make sure the ribbon cable of the cover is connected correctly (with the sticker facing right) or that the jumper on "No Foil" is positioned correctly.
What should I do if the control panel goes into alarm mode immediately?
- First check the connections on each fire push button or detector to make sure they are fitted correctly.
- Then check that the connector cables in connection 16-17 and 13-14 are not touching each other.
Make sure that for external connections you always have a NO contact and that a 10k resistor is connected in parallel. Also check that external systems are not transmitting an alarm status.
What should I do if the OK LED lights up at the same time as AC FAIL, BATT LOW, LD4, LD5, LD6 or LD7 (without sound)?
The Snitch function (DIP5) is enabled. To resolve this issue, reset the function by first switching DIP5 OFF and then back ON.
If a control unit shows a fault but still displays a green 'OK' LED, this usually means: 'I am working properly, the problem is probably with another control unit that is also connected to the bus.' Please note: By default, dip 5 is set to 'OFF'.
