It is easy to connect devices in this modern world. You can easily connect your Skylux too thanks too well-known apps such as Google Home, Apple Homekit and Samsung SmartThings. This guide will help you get started with different apps and more options for a smarter home. You will be able to control your Skylux from different apps in no time!
Before getting started
Make sure you know which ecosystem (app) your Skylux product is currently linked to. This is the starting point for the sharing process. Is your Skylux product not yet connected? Then read our simple guide to connecting your Skylux Matter Device | Wireless control step by step
For example: if you already control your device from Google Home, but you would also like to do this from AppleHomekit. Then follow the instructions for Google Home below. You can generate a QR code from this app with which you can add your device in AppleHomekit.
In your current app, you can create a special code called the commissioning code. With this code, you can connect your Skylux product with a new app.
These are the basic elements you need to share your Skylux product with another ecosystem.
Follow the steps below in the manual carefully for a smooth process.
A 'Thread border router', such as the Google Nest Hub or Apple HomePod mini, enables a connection between your Skylux product and your Wi-Fi or Ethernet network. This allows you to control your device via your smartphone or tablet.
You may already have a border router or Matter-compatible devices in your home that can act as a border router. This can save you time and money. Take a look at the following devices you may already own:
- Samsung SmartThing (works with Android and iOS)
- Nest Hub (2nd gen) and Nest Hub Max
- Nest Wifi Pro
- Apple TV 4K (3rd gen, 128 GB and 2nd gen)
- HomePod (2nd gen) en HomePod mini
- SmartThings Hub v3 en SmartThings Station
Please note that the Amazon Echo (4th gen) is not currently compatible with the Skylux products.
So before you purchase a new border router, take a look around your home. You may already have everything you need to control your Skylux product and enjoy a smart home experience!

Always start with the app to which your Skylux product is already connected.
Apple Home
Share your Skylux product from Apple Home
Apple Home is known for its ease of use. If you have already added your Skylux product to Apple Home, follow these simple steps to share it with other apps as well.
- Go to the home screen and briefly tap the icon of the device you want to share.
- Tap the gear icon at the bottom right.
- Select 'Enable pairing mode'.
- Copy this code (if your new app is on the same phone) or leave this screen open (if your new app is on a different smartphone)... and add it to your new app. Note: Do this within 15 minutes!
- Follow the further steps here.
(Choose the instructions of the app in which you want to add your device.)
Please note: in your new app, choose to add your device without the QR code. In Google Home, this can be done, for example, by clicking on 'set up without QR code.'
Google Home
Share your Skylux device from Google Home
Google Home easily integrates with a range of devices. If you already use your Skylux product with Google Home, use the following steps to share it with other apps.
- Press and hold the device icon.
- Tap the gear icon at the top right.
- Go to 'Connected Matter apps and services'.
- Tap 'Link apps and services'.
- Choose how you want to share:
- Tap your new app when you see it.
- Use the 'linking code' or scan the QR code and follow the steps in the new app.
Samsung Smartthings
Share your Skylux product from Samsung SmartThings
Samsung SmartThings are central to the Samsung smart home experience. If you are already using your Skylux product in SmartThings, follow these instructions to share it with other apps.
- Go to 'Devices' and briefly tap the device icon.
- Tap the three dots at the top right.
- Select 'Share with other services'.
- Choose how you want to share:
- Tap your new app when you see it.
- Copy the 11-digit code or scan the QR code and follow the steps in the new app.
