The Skylux skylights are 3-, 4- or even 5-walled. This makes them super-insulating. You save up to 66% more energy than with a double-walled skylight. This way, you keep light and heat inside and avoid a hefty energy bill.
To choose the correct curb (upstand), you start from the roof opening (effective opening in the roof) on the one hand and the desired insulation value on the other. There are 2 types in the Skylux range: straight and splayed curbs.
The advantage of a straight curb is that it can be placed over an existing curb in order to increase the insulation value. This is therefore often used in refurbishment projects.
The splayed curb has the advantage of a more even light distribution thanks to the slanted incidence. The skylight that is placed on this curb is also cheaper because it is smaller.
